“My Pictorial for the Gasoline Station Commercial”
My call time was at 8:00 a.m. I was supposed to be fetched at the gasoline station in Blue Wave in front of a bank along President Diosdado Macapagal Avenue by the crew. However, I was at the appointed place at 6:30 a..m., not only because I was very much excited but because it was a Thursday, and my car is color coding on Thursdays and it meant that it must be off the road by 7:00 a.m.!
The crew that fetched me led me to our location which is inside Bradco St. near the corner of Bay Boulevard inside Aseana in the reclamation area. The three buses were already parked in the area. They will be used as my backdrop, supposed to be my bus fleet. The crew had put up two tents for us.
I joined Johanna and the rest of the staff and crew for breakfast. I was happy to know that Johanna had rented the BMG shooting equipment because I met familiar faces among the crew. We had worked together in the past. At about 8:30 a.m., I summoned Lolit – make up artist that we will start putting on my make up.
I was ready by 9:00 a.m. just when the Singaporean clients arrived. They inspected the three buses and instructed the bus drivers to park the buses side by side. One bus was found out to be without its windshield wiper. They insisted that the crew should look for a replacement, otherwise it would not look good for the shoot without one wiper.
I had two fears before we started the pictorial. I sweat a lot and since the location is an open field with the hot summer sun, I was anxious that if I will sweat, my polo will be wet and would look bad for the camera. My second fear was that I had a cough and colds. I worried that if I blow my nose often my make up will be wiped out!
Luckily, I had very efficient assistants, Lolit – the make up artist and Mel – the wardrobe and another crew who is the designated umbrella man, I never sweat from the time we started the pictorial at 9:30 a.m. until I was done.
The presence of the clouds made my pictorial lighter since it covered me from the heat of the sun although it lengthened my entire pictorial time. You see, the Photographer wanted the full sun out for the shot. Every time the clouds covered the sun, we had the take a rest!
Likewise, I did not blow my nose during the entire session! I really thank God for making the whole day easier for me!
In between shots, I talked with the Singaporeans. I must say, it was fun working with them! Thanks so much Johanna for this great project!
