“Congrats, Pinoy Big Brother Winners!”

Perhaps because my youngest daughter had stayed at home the whole summer vacation after she decided to quit from her job to take up law this school year, I had the chance to to watch every day the reality show “Pinoy Big Brother, Teen Edition 2 Plus”. You see, my daughter was watching it every night!  That is why I know Ejay, Robi, Beauty and Nicole so much!

In fact, I had voted for Robi for five times, four times when he was nominated for the same number  and once in the finals. It goes without saying that I belong to the solid Robians (he,he,he,he) who were disappointed when he lost to Ejay in the Big Night!

Congrats to the PBB Big Four: Ejay, Robi, Beauty and Nicole!

That Friday before the Big Night, I made a prediction that it will be Robi who will emerge as the Big Winner. Jokingly, I told my office mates that I will make arrangements in advance with Dra. Domingo so that I would be playing Robi’s dad when he will already have his own teleserye! You see, Dra. Domingo – the mother of Robi is a medical doctor who is working with our office – the Social Security System at our Medical Evaluation Department while Robi’s father – another Doctor is with Capitol Medical Center! My wife had regularly visited Capitol Medical Center for her ailment before! See, it’s a small world after all!

My prediction is that, in a matter of days, Robi will become the next teeny booper tv idol! Move over Gerald! While watching The Buzz the Sunday afternoon after the big night, when asked by Boy Abunda if he would be joining showbiz, Robi answered in the affirmative! I agree with the observations of some of the veteran entertainment writers that Robi is a star material.

Speaking of  Ejay, the poor boy from Mindoro had recently become the object of a demolition job by some quarters who felt that he was not that truthful to claim that he is still innocent. In fact according to the tabloids, Ejay had several experiences of the third kind! Will, let us see if the demolition job will work on Ejay or would even propel him further towards stardom and success!

Beauty and Nicole could finally break the stigma among us from the Visayas and Mindanao who are in Showbiz: “the pagkabisaya man gyud uy!” Perhaps, the duo will be packaged by ABS-CBN as novelty products even capitalizing on their hard cebuano accents and become big stars as such! You see, in this age of globalization where mass media and computers have demolished barriers in physical distance, regionalistic attitude has likewise slowly been transformed into acceptance of our diversity in language but oneness as a nation!

Good luck to Ejay, Robi, Beauty and Nicole!
