That the encyclopedia became obsolete with the advent of internet and its search engines like google search or yahoo search is an old story. Fifteen years ago when my daughters were still in their elementary school, we invested a fortune to buy a complete set of encyclopedia for their use to do research work on certain school assignments. But now, with google search, a student would just visit an internet café, open the computer, click the mozilla firefox and he would be directed to the google search. Then he would type the topic that he wanted to get information, and click search, in a few seconds, he will have the information he needs on screen.

Access to information has never been this easy, right at the tip of the computer mouse! Recently, I discovered a website that aside from providing information which it gathers, it is also interactive with the user and accepts comments from them. These stored comments can be accessed by other users too. That the nature of the information is about Philippine television shows makes it more interesting.

The website that I am referring to is telebisyon.net. I accidentally discovered it when I was curious how many entries in the google search does my name has. I first entered my full name on the space of google search and clicked search. I got curious on an entry with the following words after my name: appearance in “I’ll Take Care of You”. I clicked it to satisfy my curiosity. Lo and behold, I was directed into the telebisyon.net website. It has all the information about me as a cast of the “I’ll Take Care of You” episode of the Sunday afternoon show “Your Song”.

As I have mentioned earlier, the website would allow the user to put in their comments. They user may write their comments on a particular tv show, it could be a reaction to its story or an appreciation on the performance of the actors.

If you have time, I encourage you to visit the telebisyon.net website. It is fun and very informative. Let me navigate you to the website. After you have opened the internet, you clicked mozilla firefox. You would be directed to the google search. You enter the word telebisyon.net and click seach. On the main page of telebisyon.net, it has a search space. Enter my name Edgar Sandalo and click search. You would be directed to “I’ll Take Care of You” page. You look for the word cast and click it. You would be directed to the list of the cast of the show. You will find my name. Click it. Then you will be directed to give your comments on me on the space provided. I would welcome your comments. In this way, we can have a lively interaction. See you at the cyberspace!
