I Raped Ara Mina!

Right after my Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand trip, my hands were full with new assignments: I started shooting for a major role in an independent film titled “KOLORETE”, had taping for NBN Channel 4’s “Count Your Blessings” and had “raped” Ara Mina for “Ligaw na Bulaklak”!

 I  have Chinese uncles, aunties and cousins. You see, my maternal grandmother – Dona Telesfora married her second husband Lolo Jose Ong Oh who came from Mainland China after the death of her first husband Lolo Ricardo Mission. The fact that I grew up with Chinese relatives played a great influence in the way I would attribute God’s blessings that come into my life.

 I am sure that all of these  blessings that had poured unto me came from the God Almighty! And for this, I am very thankful to Him!

 However, I have to ask for God’s forgiveness as I give cognizance that this August, the 8th month of the year 2008, proved to be a very lucky month for me as my Chinese horoscope in this year of the rat had foretold in the beginning of the Chinese new year!

 Indeed, I had never been as busy as this 8th month of the year! The ordinary greeting that I would get from my friends and even from my not so close officemates is this: “if there will be a rape scene that would be looking for a rapist, please get me”, to which my usual answer in a jest would be, “sorry, but if that kind of offer would come my way, I will accept it”. Luckily so, this indeed  came my way!

 Last Sunday. while I was getting ready for another scene for NBN’s Channel 4’s “Count Your Blessings”,  I got a text message from Rose, a Talent Supplier for ABS-CBN asking me if I would be available for taping the next day as rapist of Ara Mina in “Ligaw na Bulaklak”. I had to ask my Director in “Count Your Blessings” if I would no longer have a second taping day so I could answer Rose’s text. My director quickly replied, “sama ako dyan!”. Having made sure that I would no longer have  a taping, I accepted the offer to rape Ara Mina the next day.

 I am sure that my friends and officemates would envy me when I will tell them that I had “raped” Ara Mina last Monday night!

 I was “on call” at 12 midnight, at Miramar Hotel, a small hotel in  front of the US Embassy. When the OB van and the production staff arrived, I was so happy to see Director Rechie del Carmen enter the Hotel. I greeted her with a kiss. She was also my director for Ma. Flordeluna and countless projects in the past.

 After the crew had prepared the set, I was called by the Production Assistant to the hotel room where the rape scene would be taped. I prepared myself inside the comfort room by brushing my teeth thoroughly and applying my favorite United Colors of Benetton “Paradis Infern” blue.

 When Ara Mina entered the set, we had a small talk. I told her that her grand father former Quezon City Mayor Mel Mathay is my fraternity brother in the Upsilon Sigma Phi – to give her assurance that I have great respect for her and what we were about to do is just well, another work to be done.

 We had three takes. Please watch this scene! For the avid followers of “Ligaw na Bulaklak” which airs worldwide (through THE FILIPINO CHANNEL, and locally through ABS-CBN Channel 2) after Wowowee about 3:00 p.m.weekdays, I gathered that Janet (Ara Mina) will join the Bikini Open Contest. I would be instrumental for her to win in the contest. As a Dirty Old Man, I would pay to have “sex” with Janet. It will be aired either this week or early next week!
