“Pictorial for Kolorete”
As part of the preparatory activities for the promotion of the 2008 Film Festival of CINEMA ONE ORIGINALS which will showcase the seven grantees, pictorial and on camera interviews with the cast and crew of the seven films were conducted.
The pictorial for KOLORETE cast and crew was scheduled last October 8, 2008, at 4:00 p.m. at Studio 8 of the ELJ Building, ABS-CBN compound.
I was late. I have to come from the office. When I arrived at Studio 8, I noticed Perry Dizon who played the role of Elias in the movie, being interviewed on cam by the Cinema One crew. Another member of the cast was having a pictorial. I went straight to the dressing room to have my make up.
After I was made up, Coreen Chan who played Asuncion, one of the wards of Padre Antarez (my role in the movie) arrived. We had the usual greetings, and later I went back to Studio 8. I waited for my turn for my pictorial. Something funny and a little irritation happened. While waiting for my turn, Coreen arrived and joined me in waiting for our turn for the pictorial. A staff from Cinema One suddenly approached the photographer and said that Coreen would be the next to have the pictorial. I smiled and told her that I was ahead of Coreen and that Coreen should be after me. But the Cinema One staff insisted that Coreen would be the next and the last one to have an individual pictorial and the rest will be for the group picture of the cast and crew. I asked her if she is sure with what she said. She answered in the affirmative. I left and went back to the dressing room and told Director Ruello Lozendo bout the funny incident. Direck Ruello who was being made up at that time rushed to Studio 8.
A few minutes later, the same Cinema One staff who told me that Coreen will be the last to have a solo pictorial approached me and was very apologetic to what she did earlier. She explained that she was misinformed on who are the main cast in the group. I told her that next time, she should be careful. She was pleading for me to go back to Studio 8 for my solo pictorial.
I went back to Studio 8 for my solo pictorial. Later I had my on cam interview. We had a group pictorial. During the group pictorial, I asked Coreen where is Jean Judith Javier our Soprano who played the role of Asuncion. It was then that I learned that Judith is already in Macau for a one year singing contract! I was very much happy to what I heard about Judith!
I gathered from the Cinema One staff that the Cinema One film festival this November will have a different format than that of last year. Instead of showing the films in Robinsons Galleria, it will be shown in the schools during the duration of the festival. This will bring the films closer to its market – the students. The festival is set to start on November 19.
On our way out, I met Nonie Buencamino. He was with his son. It was their turn for their pictorial. He mentioned to me the title of their film but I could not remember it!
