“Shaina Magdayao as Dragonna in Komiks”

    Last Wednesday, I was back working with the Production Staff of KOMIKS after a long while. Under the effective leadership of Tita Mae Santos, the Executive Producer, the same Production Staff that handled “Your Song” is also handling Komiks . Airing Saturday nights, 7:00 p.m , ABS-CBN Channel 2.

    I got a call to play the role of the Chief of Police. It was Cath who informed me about my new assignment followed by a text message from Beegee Soldao asking confirmation that I have not appeared in Komiks lately. I recalled that my last Komiks appearance was when I played a scientist-dad of Alfred Vargas who played Kapitan Aksyon about two years ago.

    I texted Beegee bout it. So, I was approved to appear again in Komiks. You see, the Production staff would make it a point to double check that appearance of Character Actors would not be too frequent in same shows to avoid getting comments like “siya na naman!” or “wala na bang iba?” or malakas yang Character na iyan sa ABS!” from the televiewers.

    I decided to have a hair cut after office last Wednesday to make myself appear like a Police Chief! I had enough time to go to the barber since I was on-call at 8:00 p.m.yet. In fact, I was already thinking where to kill my time if ever I will not be called at 8:00 p.m. and I am done with my haircut already.

    However, Cath texted me by  about 7:30 p.m. to proceed already to the location in Binondo. It was a good decision that I did not have a hot oil for my new hair cut otherwise I will have to rush to the set.

    When I arrived at the San Roque Fire Station at the corner of San  Fernando and Madrid Sts. in Binondo, everybody was in a relaxed atmosphere. Obviously, everyone just had a good dinner break and are on stand-by anytime for the resumption of the taping. A staff gave me a script which I  immediately read. A few minutes later, the staff manning the wardrobe asked me to follow him to the second floor of the Fire Station for my police uniform.  I quickly wore the police officer uniform. When I went down, I saw Ruben  Gonzaga  – Pinoy Big Brother winner also wearing a police uniform. I had a good chat with Ruben who is a kababayan – a bisdak (bisayang dako) from Davao City. I was his Chief in the episode.

    When Direk Dondon Santos called us to the set, I realized that I will be acting with former child star Shaina Magdayao. She is a now a full grown young sexy woman! She was in a super hero costume as Dragona. Bayani Agbayani and Long Mejia wearing firemen t-shirt uniforms are playing adoptive fathers of Dragonna.

    Taping was so smooth for this new KOMIKS story set to be aired next month after the conclusion of the Tiny Tony story.  Shaina Magdayao as Dragonna would surely be interesting with her revealing superhero costume.
