“Dragonna’s Blazing Final Episode”

            I arrived at the Southern Police District Headquarters which is located inside Nichols a little past 6:00 p.m. last thursday for my second taping day for ABS-CBN Channel 2’s once a week show KOMIKS which currently features “DRAGONNA”. It airs 6:00 p.m. Saturdays. 

             I am portraying  the role of the Chief of Police in this episode starring Shaina Magdayao – Vina Morales’ younger sister, a former child actress who is now a lady. 

           Shaina ordered  Pancit Malabon as her treat to the cast and staff for the suppose to be last taping day of the show. The food for the dinner that night was very delicious, there were pork barbeque, pork adobo and pakbet. It is always the practice that Ma’am Mae Santos – the Executive Producer of Komiks to have good food on its last taping day.

           I shared the dining table with the Shaina and the other stars of Dragonna which includes Pinoy Big Brother winner Ruben Gonzaga (who is playing the role of one of the Policemen under my command), Bayani Agbayani, and Long Mejia .

            There were some family members (mothers and their children) of the policemen in the Southern Police District camp who came to the parade grandstand where we had dinner to ask for autographs and photo opportunities with Shaina and the other stars! I was also honored that some of them also asked for my autograph and using their cell phone cameras requested for  photo ops with me! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! I reminded myself that it just so happened that I was with the stars that they included me for the autograph and picture taking!

             After dinner, I had a boys’ talk with Bayani, Long, Arnold and Ruben. We shared stories of our acting experiences until the talk shifted on my being an SSS employee and their eagerness to ask for information on how they can check on the status of their SSS membership. They gave me their personal data and  I promised to check on them. I encouraged them to continue paying their SSS contributions as voluntary members. Most of them had in the past been employed by private companies and had paid SSS contributions.

             When we were finally called to the set, I was delighted to watch Shaina in Dragonna costume. The scene called for Shaina as Dragonna to perform fight scenes with Carlos Agassi. Shaina was simply a stunner in these blazing scenes.

             As Dragonna will have its final episode this Saturday, 17 January, I invite you to watch it, 6:00 p.m. ABS-CBN Channel 2.
