“A Long Stand By Period”
We have been taping for five straight days, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays for the religoserye “May Bukas Pa” in Bacolor, Pampanga. Tapings were so tiring until last Thursday when the two taping units had to give the “12 priests” some breathing space: a long waiting period starting at mid afternoon. There were scenes lined up with only Santino (Zianjan Jaranilla) and Bro Jesus (Love) in the cemetery for the first unit and scenes with Albert Martinez et al at the Mayor’s Mansion which did not have the priests in the scenes. Because of this, we were given some free time and we decided to go to SM Pampanga.
Eight of us including Victor Basa and his “kasama sa bahay ni kuya” Big Winner Ruben Gonzaga, Tony Manalo, Aloy Norona, Andre Tianco Robin Tolentino, and the two bodyguards of Enrique (Albert Maritnez) Gio Marcelo and Dennis went to SM Pampanga.
Aloy brought his van and had some of priests with him, Gio Marcelo and I brought our own cars and we drove to SM Pampanga. We window shopped and when the shoppers and salesladies recognized Victor Basa, they started to ask Victor for picture taking sessions. Victor Basa is very popular with the crowd at SM Pampanga. Ruben Gonzaga who was Victor’s housemate and who became the big winner was not as popular although there were also some shoppers who recognized him.
We walked from one end of the Mall to the other end and along the way, shoppers from time to time would request Victor Basa for picture taking. It was fun being with the company of Victor Basa who is very popular!
We ate at the Pizza Hut. When we returned to the set at 7:00 p.m. there were still some scenes in the cemetery with Bro (Love) and Santino.
I considered tapings for May Bukas Pa as the most fulfilling tv assignments so far not only because it is my first soap to be a regular member of the cast where I play a main support role but for the simple reason that we are enjoying each other’s company in the cast.

When i was reading your articles i learned from here that Mang Cris Daluz was the name of the actor i always see in movies and telenovela.I searched his name in IMDB,Wike,etc only to find out in my dismay that he passed away already last Feb 12,2009.Good actors like mang cris deserved to be recognized. He is really a good actor. You might not recognized or remember his name but you will trully remember his acting skills.God bless his soul!
