“Tonton Gutierrez-not wired, Liza Lorena-wired”

When I asked Tonton Gutierrez if he is the one maintaining his facebook account, his quick response was that he is not the one who opened and maintained an account in facebook bearing his name. A fan may have done it. Truth of the matter is, Tonton is not at all wired unlike his mother Ms. Liza Lorena who is wired and is spending most of her waiting time on the set doing the games in facebook!

One afternoon, while Dominic Ochoa, Jaime Fabregas, Andre Tiangco and myself were huddled together in a conference table of the new municipal hall of Bacolor which is being used as the set of the Municipality of Bagong Pag-asa, Ms. Liza Lorena joined us and she and Andre were discussing about the points that they currently earned in their respective games in facebook. The faces of Dominic and Jaime were all in amazement as they did not have the slightest idea what Maam Liza and Andre were talking about! I volunteered to tell them that Maam Liza and Andre were talking about their performances in the facebook games.

Although I maintain my own facebook account, I am not hooked on its games the way that others like my daughter who is into “farming”. One time, when I observed my daughter while she was busy “farming” in the facebook, I smiled and told my daughter how ironic it is that I am an agriculturist but I do not have the urge to “farm” in facebook while she who is on her 2^nd year Law is busy “farming”!

That same afternoon, while I was working on my notepad computer, Tonton asked me what I was doing. When I told him that I writing a article for my blog about Albert Martinez, he told me he thought I was working on something related with my regular work. That led to his usual joke on me telling me that my office is losing much everytime I report for taping. Then as if on cue, I argued that I am using my leave credits everytime I am not at the office!

Tonton then shifted our talk on internet and computers. He told me that he does not have any inclination to spend time on computers. I told him that his mother Maam Liza is not only computer literate but is even an expert in facebook games! He answered back that he'd rather play golf!

You thought that a star like Tonton Guiterrez does not have to wait on the set (tengga) for a long period of time? You are wrong! In several instances Tonton waited for long hours without any word of complain. I consider Tonton a real pro, he could not have survived in showbiz if not for his professionalism in his craft!
