On my second taping day, I was again lucky that my calltime was very convenient, 3:00 pm, not too early and yet not too late. Our first scene for the day was an all-star cast: Oyo, Tintin, DJ Durano, Nina Jose, Marriel Sorino, Tart Carlos and myself. The road in front of the Pila Municipal Hall was our set.

After the take, I was surprised to hear DJ Durano talked to Marriel Sorino (of Pinoy Big Brother) in cebuano. I already knew that Marriel is from Davao and in fact we had already been talking in our cebuano language when I met her during my first taping day. But, to hear DJ Durano speak in cebuano too was surprising. I asked DJ if indeed he is cebuano, to which he quickly answered in the affirmative – yes he is cebuano and in fact he is one of the sons of the the old Mayor Durano of Danao City in Cebu province. I told him that my father was from Badian, Cebu and during the World War II he migrated to Agusan del Norte in Mindanao where I was born. I recalled I first saw DJ on-screen when I watched “Ang Tanging Ina”. DJ is very friendly that when we met again in Trinoma last saturday (20 March), he was the first one to greet me, and even shoke my hand quickly as he was riding the elevator going up while I was riding on the opposite elevator going down. I was again taken by surprise since I did not recognize him right away as he was wearing a dark sunglasses. I looked up and saw he was carrying three shopping bags! DJ Durano is playing the role of Konsehal Magtulis who is courting Sandra (Kristine Hermosa).

When I went inside the aircon tent when I arrived the set for our last taping day, I saw a slim lady with brown curly hair in front of the mirror. She was putting on her make up. When she turned to look at me, I easily recognized her, she was Angel Jacob! After I introduced myself, I told Angel that I met her dad Monico Jacob some two years ago. I was called by our boss SSS Executive Vice President Horace Tempo to his office. He introduced me to Mr. Monico Jacob who is connected with the Nasipit Lumber Company which has a transaction with our Department. Mr. Templo mentioned to Mr. Jacob that I appeared in TV series. Mr. Jacob proudly told me that he is the father of Angel Jacob. He asked me if I already had the chance to work with Angel. That time, I have not met Angel yet.

In another meeting, the Executive Producer of the show “The Realty TV” was giving a briefing to us in an exploratory effort if the SSS (through our Department, the Asset Management Department) could advertize our properties on the show which is aired on the ANC channel. When a sample episode of the show which was in a CD was presented, I saw Angel Jacob hosting the show. Angel Jacob is playing the role of Esme the auntie of Oyo Sotto in this series.

Marielle Sorino is a housemate of the recently concluded Pinoy Big Brother Double Up with Melai as the Big Winner. Just like Melai, Marriel is also from Mindanao, not from General Santos City but from Davao City. During the tapings for this mini-series she is accompanied by her auntie Cherry Sorino. I told Marielle and her Auntie Cherry that Ruben Gonzaga, another Pinoy Big Brother Big Winner and who is also from Davao City is my friend, having worked with him for one year in “May Bukas Pa”. Marielle is playing the role of Lolita, an office mate of Sandra in the municipal office.

Tart Carlos is a stand up comedianne who is a regular at the Music Library, a Sing along Comedy Bar on Maria Orosa St. near Robinsons Manila. She is a very funny person. She plays the role of Cedes, another officemate of Sandra.
