“My Taping for ABS-CBN’s Momay”
Last thursday, 17 June 2010, I woke up early with the noise of the alarm of my cellphone which I set at 3:20 am. I did what I normally do which is to check the text messages that I received while I was asleep. I got a text message from a number which is not registered in my phonebook. The sender introduced herself as Minnie from the teleserye "MOMAY". She asked if I could tape that day for "MOMAY" as the father of Valerie Concepcion. I checked the time that I received the message and it said 12:10 am! I immediately texted back Minnie that I was available thay day. While I was waiting for her answer, I was trying to mentally check if I had an important meeting at the office last thursday. I didn't have a meeting! However, Minnie did not text back immediately. After10 minutes, I decided to call her instead, I didn't want to miss the taping, my last taping was middle of April yet for Agua Bendita. Last month, I missed a taping for the reason that I was not able to answer back immediately the text from a staff of tita Angge. She booked another guy for the role.
“Emir- When the Government Produces a Movie”
To say that Emir is a masterpiece by veteran director Chito Rono is an understatement. For after I watched it I told myself how lucky I am that at least in my lifetime,specifically a day in 2001, I had a golden opportunity to work under the superb direction of Director Chito Rono. It is with pride that I would reveal to you that I played a bit role as a father of the groom in a wedding scene for the Chito Rono movie titled “La Vida Rosa”. That movie was produced by Star Cinema starring Rossana Roces and Diether Ocampo. So, what is the big deal if I had that “one golden day” in my life working under Director Chito Rono? I would say, a great deal, for the simple reason that to my mind, it qualifies me to aver that all of the works of Director Chito Rono are masterpieces and Emir is his finest masterpiece to date!

Classes are set to start for the first semester school year 2010 in the University of the Philippines College of Law on June 8. Last sunday therefore was the last free day of summer of our youngest daughter to relax and bond with me and my wife. We want her to complete her summer vacation with a bang so to speak! She was insistent to try the Promenade in the Greehills Shopping Center as the venue of our moviewatching trip. This summer, we had the opportunity to watch movies at the Cineplex in the Gateway Mall and the Eastwood Cinema in the Eastwood City in addition to our regular moviewatching venue which is the SM Fairview because it is the nearest cinema to our home.
